Here is your chance to own one of the last and highly desirable series of the air cooled Porsche 911s. These
Porsches are going up in value rapidly as collectors (both here and in Europe) are buying them up.
Up for sale is this beautiful 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa. This two owner car and has only been driven (not
raced) approximately 2, 500 miles per year during its life with the odometer currently showing 72, 638 miles. This
Porsche 911 has the bulletproof 3.2L motor and it is equipped with the highly regarded and very smooth shifting,
G50 transmission. This specific 911 was manufactured in February of 1987 and was equipped with numerous options
including designations: C03 California Car; 158 Blaupunkt Reno Radio; 341 Central Locking System/Power Door Locks;
375 Clutch Lining without Asbestos; 454 Cruise Control and 474 Sports Shock Absorbers. Due to the pristine nature
of this vehicle, the original glued on paper assembly line data sheet, confirming the VIN and all ordered options
above is still attached under the hood. Also, because the car has never been in any type of accident nor had any
damage or repairs done to the body, all of the body panels, doors, hood and deck lid still have the original
Porsche stickers with the matching VIN numbers attached. This is a 100% numbers matching car.
The exterior paint is completely original and there has been no repainting anywhere. The Porsche has always been
stored inside under protection so the original black exterior paint is in excellent condition and is both extremely
glossy and highly reflective. There are no door dings or dents in the body. There are some small rock chips to
the hood and front end and one scratch over the right front wheel. There is absolutely no rust on the car
anywhere. The Targa roof does need to have the original vinyl covering replaced. There are no cracks, chips or
scratches to the original front windshield. The fully original interior is also in great shape. The black leather
seats are in very nice shape without any cracking or significant scuffing as is commonly seen on higher mileage
911s. There are no cracks anywhere in the dash and the original carpet is in good shape. Both the power windows
and door locks work perfectly. Mechanically, the 3.2L engine fires up immediately, runs strong and pulls hard
without any smoke or noises. The G50 gearbox shifts smoothly with ease and the synchros feel great in every gear.
The clutch engages properly and has no slippage, chatter or noises. The AC has not been recharged for several
years, so it will not blow any cold air. The brakes are good and they stop the car straight and true. The car has
been upgraded mechanically with a Bursch tuned muffler, a shock tower brace, a K&N air intake filter and a
performance chip. All of the original OEM parts (the muffler, the restrictive air box/filter and the chip) have
been retained and will be included with the sale. If desired, the car can be returned to its fully original state
with these parts very quickly and easily since no modifications were made to the car to add any of the upgrades.
Since the car recently passed its VA inspection, the brake pads and tires pass inspection and all of lights, turn
signals, horn, wipers and other tested items are all working properly.
Finally, this Porsche has its original space saver spare tire, jack, air compressor and the complete toolkit. It
also comes with the original brown Porsche vinyl folder containing the Owner’s Manual, Maintenance and Warranty
Book, and the Dealer Directory. A clean Carfax report can also be provided.
