The engine features a 74-mm bore, a 71-mm stroke, and a compression ratio of 9.8 to 1. The bike's engine also comes with Honda's Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) system and a computer-controlled digital ignition. At 5, 500 rpm, the engine delivers 118 horsepower. The maximum torque of 123 ft.-lb. is developed at 4, 000 rpm. The engine is coupled with a five-speed transmission.
